“Staff presented good role models in their own behaviour. Children received consistent messages from staff which helped them to recognise consequences to actions.”Care Inspection Report, March 2015
Within our care element, our five residential cottages are managed by a team of four Residential Managers, five Assistant Residential Managers, a team of Residential Care Staff, dedicated Homemakers and Night Awake staff. The care team is overseen by a Head of Care.
Care staff at Harmeny are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and are minimally qualified to HNC / SVQ3 – Social Services, with many staff holding further qualifications such as social work, teaching, psychology and paediatric nursing.
All staff are required to undertake substantial in-house training on relevant core theories and how they translate into practice at Harmeny, as well as essential health and safety courses, such as administering medications and CALM (the model we use for safely holding children, when required).
