A National Confidential Forum has been set up by legislation to give people who were placed as children in a residential care service in Scotland the opportunity to describe their experiences whatever they were, through a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental process.
Based on the successful pilot, ‘A Time to be Heard’, the Forum aims to help improve the health and wellbeing of people placed in institutional care, by offering acknowledgement of their experiences. The Forum, which will run until July 2017, is not an inquiry and has no investigatory powers, neither will it offer compensation or an apology to participants.
Along with all other organisations who have provided residential care, Harmeny has been asked to assist in contacting individuals over the age of 16, placed in our care, in order to let them know about the Forum.
If you are a previous pupil and would like to participate in this important initiative, please contact the Forum via the website below.
